The objective of the earthquake engineering research, within the Centre, is to gain knowledge of the nature and effect of earthquakes. The main areas of research are: 

  • Mathematical modelling of earthquakes
  • Measurements
  • Earthquake loading
  • System identification of structures
  • Earthquake mitigation in complex structures
  • Risk analysis of structures
  • Earthquake resistance of hydroelectric power plants
  • Earthquake resistance of lifelines

Abstract submission for the International Conference "Skopje Earthquake - 50 Years of European Earthquake Engineering" (SE-50EEE) to be held in Skopje, Macedonia, 29-31 May 2013 is still open until the 1st of December 2012.

Important Information

SE-50EEE will feature a Special Sessions track that will run throughout the conference in parallel to other tracks. We encourage you to submit a proposal on an area that you deem as important and may impact the future of the field. Proposals for special sessions should be submitted at secretariat@se-50eee.org  <mail-to:secretariat@se-50eee.org by February 01, 2013.
